I’m good at being ready early and then screwing around until I’m late.
I love this song!! Enough said. X
I’m obsessed with this song at the moment- I know it’s been around a while but have just rediscovered it on my iPod and can’t stop playing it!!
These two were supposedly based on a real couple, who said they wouldn’t board a life boat as long as there were younger people still aboard the ship. They both went below deck, presumably to their room, and that’s the last time they were seen.

I can’t say I’ve ever been a gym bunny. However, in the last 12 months I have made an effort to do more exercise and joined the gym and absolutely loved swimming, pilates, spinning and kettle bell classes. But I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who could take their gym kit anywhere put it on and run in the grand outdoors.
So after some running practice on the treadmill, I cancelled my gym membership and have vowed to become an outdoor runner. It’s free!! (apart from the kit).
However, since I have been running outdoors I have twisted my knee (a re-occurring previous injury from when I swam for the county as a teenager) and have been getting awful shin splints.
So yesterday, I went to JJB to buy some better running trainers with support and cushioning. When I got there they put me on a treadmill and recorded my run- my stride and landing- to determine what sort of runner I am and what sort of trainers I need to correct it.
I was very impressed with this service and now have a lovely new pair of Nike trainers I can’t wait to try out tomorrow after my knee has rested. It turns out that the reason my knee keeps twisting and my shins hurting is because my previous running shoes didn’t offer enough support.
And I love the colours!!
Waxing: the eyebrow edition
I believe that a pair of perfectly groomed eyebrows can completely change the way your face looks and if I had to choose between being able to wear make up or having perfectly groomed eyebrows for the rest of my life- even with my oily, acne prone skin- I would choose the perfect eyebrows.
I was around 15 when I first began paying attention to my eyebrows. I went to a salon and a young beautician plucked away- I came out feeling sore, but that was the price of beautiful eyebrows I told myself, until I got home and studied them in the mirror and they looked odd, so I asked my mum and she said they definitely looked odd. I never went back!!
Since that day, ten years ago, I have never- except for one very desperate occasion at university- gone anywhere near my eyebrows with a pair of tweezers and attempted to shape them myself.
Since that first awful experience, I tried having them plucked again but hated it. So I decided to try waxing, and loved it!! I went to a wonderful lady who began by waxing and then tweezing the odd few stragglers. I’m not sure if it was the waxing or her experience but I loved the shape and how it suited my face shape and my eyes, and with the exception of trying threading when I spent a summer in America, I have tried my upmost to visit that lady every 3-4 weeks to have my eyebrows perfectly shaped even if it meant driving for two hours from uni to home on a Saturday morning just to see her.
So I dedicate this post to Alex; the lady who has put up with me for a decade, who fits me in at a moments notice if I forget to book, who didn’t complain when I attacked my eyebrows with tweezers at uni and spent the next 12 months getting them back to the right shape and most of all who always has a smile on her face.
I have now moved so need to find a new eyebrow waxing lady- but I feel like I’m cheating on her just thinking about it.
Big Love xx
I was recently browsing around the make up counters and happened across NARS. I have a few of their products in my make up bag already- including their blush (in deep throat) and their multipurpose stick (in Malibu) which can be used on the lips, cheeks and eyes.
I have been searching for ages for a good tinted moisturiser with SPF that gives a good light to medium coverage, so when I saw that NARS had a new tinted moisturiser I had to try it.
I have oily combination skin that is prone to acne so I want a tinted moisturiser that would give me enough coverage that I would not feel conscious and need extra make up with, as I feel that you might as well just wear foundation.
I’m quite pale so the sales lady matched me to one of their lighter shades- Finland. It gave me exactly the right amount of coverage I wanted. It was light enough to look natural and give me a no make up look, but gave enough coverage that I didn’t feel that I needed any other make up on. Perfect for those days when I don’t want to wear make up.
I have used it 4/5 times over the past two weeks and have tried applying it a number of different ways. I have found that the best way to apply is with a buffing brush on primed or moisturised skin. I don’t need much of this so I suspect it will last me a long time. I’m also looking forward to using it in the summer and whilst on holiday and seeing how it copes with heat, sweat and humidity.
This is a new firm favourite of mine- I think it might even make it into my top 10!
I recently came across a brilliant website called Tilley and Grace, that sells wonderful jewellery. They have brilliant bangles, fantastic friendship bracelets and coloured strings with lovely little hanging charms.
All the items are under £20 with the cheapest starting at £6.50 for the coloured strings with charms, and at the moment UK P&P is free!!
The website supports different charities in Africa and is currently aiming to sell 5000 bracelets to help build a kitchen at a primary school in rural Kenya. Once they reach this goal, they will choose a different cause and set a new target to achieve it.
So why not take a look and indulge in some guilt free shopping. I’ve already ordered some for myself, my sister and my friends birthday!

The Next Chapter
I am currently embarking on a new chapter in my life. It’s similar to past chapters, but I am determined for this one to be the best yet.
I have recently moved back to the town I went to University in, and have temporarily moved in with my best friend and old housemate. I fully intend on getting a brilliant job, an amazing little apartment with plenty of closet space, a very cute puppy and maybe even my prince charming!!
